Job Description

Position: Executive Producer – Programming, SET

 

Purpose: The position is expected to understand its target audience, their preferences, consumption patterns, environmental variables that may affect the viewership of fiction shows. The role needs a balance of being creative and managing operational aspects to ensure content is created within timelines and as per requirement.

 

Education: Degree in mass communication or any allied degree (Creative capabilities will be given a preference over educational qualification for this role)

 

Experience: 6years of experience with production houses/ programming teams of other broadcasters managing fiction shows

 

Location: Mumbai

 

Reporting Relationship: Head - Programming (Fiction), Channel SET

 

Business/Channel/Function: Channel SET

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pre-production and production of content
    • Understand the theme / direction for the shows and develop a broad storyline / concept for discussion with the production house
    • Jointly with creative team evaluate pitches and storylines from production houses and select the most appropriate production house 
    • Oversee coordination with assigned production house for scripts, casting, promotional material, provide inputs based on understanding of the intent and strategy for the show
    • Review rough cuts, jointly with the creative team and provide inputs to enhance the show further
    • Review deliverables from production house from a creative perspective; discuss with production house to resolve any queries around inputs
  • On-ground support
    • Oversee on-ground support provided by Producer, and handle any matters during shoots and resolve queries
    • Oversee management of events / shooting as per defined timelines; Actively participate and take auditions, look tests
    • Liaise with production house and artists on escalations and resolve issues
    • Escalate issues to supervisor in a timely manner, as required to ensure end timelines are not impacted
  • Coordination with internal teams
    • Brainstorm with the PR team for any PR related activities, allocate responsibilities to production house and oversee operations
    • Brainstorm with the OAP team and provide highlights of the upcoming show in order to plan promos; Liaise with Post-production team for any escalations pertaining to final quality of episode
    • Liaise with the Marketing team to provide inputs on the marketing campaigns from content changes and storyline perspective
  • Relationship management with partners
    • Coordinate with production house on a daily basis; Develop rapport with stakeholders and maintain good working relationships
    • Liaise with artists through the entire production life cycle and ensure a mutually beneficial relationship
